 What is acupuncture?

Acupuncture uses single use disposable needles, along certain areas of the body called meridians. The meridians have energy flow along them called "Qi". The flow of qi should be balanced, and if not disease sets in. Acupuncture restores and balances Qi, to obtain optimal health.

Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM)

Over the last 5,000 years, Traditional Medicine (TCM) has developed a unique understanding of the workings of the body. Today in China, there are huge hospitals devoted to the treatment of patients primarily by TCM. There is extensive research being done presently on many diseases.

TCM is  effective in treating acute and/or painful disorders, infectious disease, as well as chronic problems. It is effective for general therapeutic purposes. This is possible by creating balance in the body, which enhances the body's own healing powers.

What to expect.

The Consultation and Diagnosis Process.

The consultation includes questioning, observation, examination of the pulse and tongue, as well as physical examination when required. What the physician is looking for  are not symptoms in isolation but rather a pattern into which is woven a total picture of the patient. Tongue and Pulse diagnosis are highly refined in Chinese Medicine.
